Module 00 · Clinical Empathy, Scope & Safety Boundaries
Clinical empathy is a skill you can learn, not a personality trait. It means understanding what a patient is going through, showing them you understand, and using that to agree on a plan together. It is different from emotional empathy, which means feeling what the patient feels and which is a common route to burnout. This course treats it as a professional skill, so it does not ask you for more time or more feeling.
